Dwarf Cavendish ( Musa acuminata ) is the most popular banana plant for container growing. Compact (approximately 2.4 m / 8 ft ), fast-growing , and highly ornamental, it can produce impressive bunches of up to ~90 bananas under optimal conditions. The young leaves display beautiful red-purple marbling that turns entirely green at maturity.
