'Gros Michel' (nicknamed Big Mike ) is the heritage banana that dominated world trade in the early 20th century. Renowned for its superior flavor compared to modern Cavendish bananas, it offers sweet, fragrant, melting flesh and large, elongated fruits with a thicker skin.
