New River bougainvillea

Bougainvillea with magenta-purple bracts and a naturally trailing habit. In a 5" pot, it's an excellent variety for large planters, window boxes, or for adding a splash of color from a large pot on the patio.

• Colour & flowering: magenta / purple bracts, continuous flowering in summer if the plant receives enough sun.
• Habitus: vigorous, semi-trailing; well suited to growing in suspension or on a support.
• Format received: young, well-rooted plant in a 5" pot.

Care sheet – Culture in Canada

• Light: full sun (5–6 hours minimum). Move outdoors after all risk of frost and acclimate gradually.
• Watering: water deeply, then allow the top to dry slightly; bougainvillea does not like to have its roots constantly waterlogged.
• Substrate: highly draining potted plant mix.
• Fertilizer: every 2–3 weeks during the growing season.
• Temperature: ideal between 18 and 30 °C; bring indoors before 10–12 °C.
• Overwintering: very bright room or cool greenhouse, reduced watering, shaping pruning possible at the end of winter.
