Young Spathodea campanulata grown from seed selected for the yellow form. As with many seedlings, the final color may vary and some plants may unfortunately flower orange.

• Flowers: expected yellow flowers, but orange flowers are possible in some individuals.
• Port: small collector's tree in a pot.
• Use: a rare plant for lovers of tropical curiosities.
• Cultivation in Canada: growing in containers or pots, to be brought indoors before the cold weather.

Care sheet – Culture in Canada

• Light: full sun to partial sun, ideally in a warm spot sheltered from the wind.
• Watering: Water regularly during hot periods; allow the surface of the substrate to dry slightly between waterings.
• Substrate: rich and well-draining potting soil.
• Temperature: Tropical plant to be brought indoors before the first cold weather; does not tolerate frost.
• Cultivation: excellent collector's plant in large pots or heated greenhouses.
