'FHIA-01 Goldfinger' is a recent cultivar from the FHIA breeding program (Honduras) with strong commercial potential . It is distinguished by excellent resistance to foliar diseases , high wind resistance , relative cold tolerance , and a very sturdy pseudostem . A remarkable producer, it offers delicious bananas with a flavor reminiscent of apples (a trait inherited from its parent , Musa 'Dwarf Prata' ). Versatile : it can be eaten fresh when ripe, or boiled/fried when green.
