Care sheet – Culture in Canada
- Light: full sun, gentle to partial sun; gradually acclimate to direct sunlight outdoors.
- Watering: This plant requires a lot of water in summer; keep the substrate fresh but well-drained, especially in pots.
- Substrate: rich and well-draining potting soil (like potting soil for balcony planters or flowering plants, with a little compost).
- Fertilizer: Fertilizer for flowering plants or tomatoes every 1–2 weeks during the growing season.
- Temperature: gradually move outside as soon as nights remain above 10–12 °C; return inside before the cold returns.
- Wintering: indoors in a bright location (greenhouse, cool, bright room) or in partial dormancy in a cool, frost-free location with very limited watering.
