The arabica coffee plant is an elegant tropical shrub bearing fragrant white flowers, then red cherries containing the coffee beans. In a pot, it enjoys bright light (without harsh direct sun behind glass) and a warm, humid atmosphere. Ideal for greenhouse/home in Quebec.

Culture (pot/greenhouse)

• Light: bright to filtered full sun; avoid sudden sunburn.
• Temperatures: 18-28 °C; avoid below 10 °C.
• Growing medium: rich, draining, slightly acidic.
• Watering: regular; let the top dry between waterings; no standing water.
• Humidity: 50-70% + misting; clay-pebble tray useful.
• Pruning: pinching to thicken (1-1.8 m in a pot).
• Tip: a slight watering decrease before flowering can encourage flower initiation.
