  • Habit & size: small branching fruit shrub, specially adapted to pot cultivation in Canada.
  • Relative hardiness: not hardy in Canada; to be grown in a pot, always protected from frost.
  • Format received: 1 plant in a 5″ pot, on its own roots (cutting), typical height 10–18″ (25–45 cm).

Care sheet – Culture in Canada

  • Light: full sun 6–8 hours per day (south-facing window, greenhouse or outdoors in summer after acclimatization).
  • Substrate: very well-draining potting soil, such as Pro-Mix HP or similar, with a little perlite.
  • Watering: allow the top of the soil to dry out between waterings; avoid letting water stagnate in the cachepot.
  • Fertilizer: apply citrus or fruit tree fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during the growing season.
  • Temperature: bring the plant indoors before nighttime temperatures drop below 5°C; never expose to frost.
  • Wintering: very bright room, cool to temperate; reduced watering but without complete drying of the substrate.

  • Cutting : clone on its own roots; compact format, bears fruit in the first year if conditions are good.
  • Grafted : scion on selected rootstock; vigor/entry into production often first or second year.
  • Dwarf : naturally compact habit (dwarfing cultivar/rootstock); normal-sized fruit. Often begins producing fruit in the first or second year.
