Loquat 'Big Jim' (Japanese medlar)

The 'Big Jim' loquat is one of the most popular varieties of Japanese medlar, prized for its very large orange fruits with juicy, sweet and fragrant flesh, and a flavor reminiscent of apricot and peach.

Its large, tropical foliage also makes it an excellent ornamental plant for the greenhouse, veranda or a very bright room.

Under good conditions, the loquat can flower in winter and produce its fruit in spring, even when grown in a pot.
