A paulownia hybrid selected for its very vigorous growth and adaptability. 'Pao Tong Z-07' is used in several rapid afforestation projects and can also serve as an ornamental tree in large gardens.

• Use: fast-growing tree for shade, light wood or green screen.
• Growth: extremely rapid in rich and well-watered soil.
• Foliage: large ornamental leaves, typical of paulownia.
• Cultivation in Canada: choose a very sheltered location; possibility of growing in pots/containers to facilitate winter protection.
• Format received: young plant in a 4" pot (15–45 cm / 6–18").

Care sheet – Culture in Canada

• Light: full sun, in the most open location possible.
• Watering: water regularly during the first year to encourage root development, then reduce watering once the tree is well established; avoid constantly waterlogged soils.
• Substrate: rich, deep and well-draining soil; in pots, use quality potting soil with a little compost.
• Fertilizer: light fertilization in spring (fertilizer for shrubs or ornamental trees) to support growth.
• Hardiness: some hybrids are more resistant to cold, but young plants must be well protected from intense frosts and drying winds.
• Pruning: It is possible to prune in early spring to shape the trunk or to encourage a bushy habit with large leaves.
