African Tulip Tree – Orange Flower

Spathodea campanulata, with its flamboyant orange flowers, is often called the African tulip tree. In tropical climates, it forms a large tree covered in large flowers; in Canada, it is grown in large pots or greenhouses.

• Light: full sun to partial sun, ideally in a warm spot sheltered from the wind.

• Temperature: Tropical plant to be brought indoors before the first cold weather; does not tolerate frost.
• Cultivation: excellent collector's plant in large pots or heated greenhouses.
